Birthing in Ireland: Where are we now? If you are interested in people’s experiences of maternity services in Ireland join us live in-person on November 11th at the Teachers Club in Parnell Sq Dublin for a review of where we are now in maternity care and what the major issues are for people birthing in Ireland today

Doors will open at 1045 am

11am – 12pm Session 1: Our rates. Our c section rates, induction rates, breastfeeding rates and more. Q & A how can be change this?

Session facilitate by Krysia Lynch AIMSI with guest speakers Claire Kerin talking about her maternity experience and Liz O Sullivan talking about our latest breastfeeding rates.

1 2pm – 1pm: Session 2: Migrant’s experiences Q & A How can we raise awareness of people’s experiences?

Session facilitated by Jane Xavier AIMSI with guest speaker Caroene Santos speaking about migrant and minority group experiences.

1 pm – 2pm Lunch break

2 pm – 230pm AIMS AGM for AIMS Ireland members

2 30pm – 330pm Session 3: Bereavement loss and trauma. Q & A What lessons have been learnt and what more is needed?

Session facilitated by Jane Xavier AIMSI including the latest from the bereavement survey and the latest maternal death statistics, with guest speaker Liz Gibson talking about birth trauma

3 30pm – 430pm Session 4: The future of home birth in Ireland. Q & A What can we do to support this service in Ireland?

Session facilitated by Maria O Sullivan AIMSI, with guest speaker SECM Carolyn Coughlan talking about the latest changes to our home birth service.

After lunch AIMSI will hold our 2023 AGM all members of the organisation are welcome to attend.
